"Thomas Topham: The Unforgettable Strongman and Multifaceted Artist" Thomas Topham, a name that resonates with strength and artistic prowess. Known as the legendary strongman of his time, Thomas Topham's extraordinary feats left spectators in awe. From lifting the mighty Wold meteorite to showcasing his incredible power on the Roehampton Housing Estate, he was truly a force to be reckoned with. But there was more to Thomas than just his Herculean strength. He had an artistic side too, evident in Edward Topham's captivating painting of him as a lamplighter holding a ladder and an oil can in 1770. This portrayal showcased not only his physical abilities but also highlighted his role in illuminating the streets during those times. Edward Topham continued to immortalize Thomas through art, capturing him at The Macaroni Print Shop on July 14th, 1772.
