"Telephone Pole: A Silent Witness to the Changing Times" In a quaint village, three children walk hand in hand down the main street, their laughter echoing through the air. Amidst this idyllic scene, a solitary telephone pole stands tall and proud, silently observing the passage of time. Transporting us back to 1895 New Orleans, St. Charles Avenue comes alive with bustling activity. Horses trot along its cobblestone streets as carriages pass by elegantly dressed men and women. And there it is again – our faithful telephone pole – an integral part of this vibrant street scene. Fast forward to 1979 during the oil crisis in Maryland; cars line up for gas at a service station desperately seeking fuel amidst scarcity. The telephone pole looms overhead like a sentinel witnessing the impact of global events on everyday life. Traveling further back in history to 1936 Amarillo, Texas during the devastating Dust Bowl era, we encounter a haunting image captured by Arthur Rothstein. A dust storm engulfs everything in sight while our steadfast telephone pole remains rooted amidst chaos and despair. Venturing across continents to Crovie in Scotland's Highlands, we stumble upon an isolated telephone box standing against breathtaking landscapes. Here lies another testament to human connection facilitated by these poles that link distant places together. Moon boulevard - an ethereal setting where dreams intertwine with reality under moonlit skies. Our trusty companion continues its duty even here, illuminating paths and enabling communication between souls traversing this enchanting realm. Supply & Demand - two opposing forces shaping economies worldwide; yet amid this intricate dance lies our unassuming friend providing essential connectivity that fuels progress and prosperity. A utility worker bravely ascends an electric power utilities pole - his mission vital for keeping communities powered up and connected even during challenging times when storms rage or accidents occur. The unsung hero who ensures uninterrupted communication for all. Canal Bridge High Street, Yiewsley.
