The Southern United States has always been a region filled with rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. From the bustling city streets to the tranquil beaches, there is something for everyone to enjoy. In Alexandria, Louisiana in 1932, Schnack's Optical Department stood as a testament to excellence in eye care. Dr. Lacy Bordelon led this department with his expertise gained from two optical colleges. With state-of-the-art instruments and sanitary conditions, Schnack's offered guaranteed eye examinations that were second to none. Moving further south to Miami Beach, Florida in 1938, The Drake Hotel welcomed guests with its prime location directly on the ocean. Offering outside rooms with private baths and tub showers, this hotel provided comfort and convenience. Its spacious lobby and modern solarium allowed visitors to relax while enjoying breathtaking views of the beach. Just half a block away from the ocean was Hotel Biarritz on Collins Avenue between 14th and 15th Street in Miami Beach. This beautifully furnished hotel boasted ocean views from every room along with private baths and telephones for added luxury. With an attractive veranda perfect for soaking up the sun after surf bathing right outside your doorsteps, Hotel Biarritz provided both tranquility and accessibility.
