The Seventh Day: A Journey Through Time and Faith - From William Miller's prophetic visions in 1843 to the present day, the Seventh Day Adventist Church has stood firm in its belief of the seventh day as the Sabbath. This faith, born out of Millerite movement, spread across the globe through missionary voyages, like the Morning Star schooner, carrying the message of God's love and the sanctity of the Sabbath to far-off lands, such as Bequia in St. Vincent and The Grenadines and Ensenada in Puerto Rico. Yet, their journey was not without trials, as evidenced by the wreck of the Morning Star off Strongs Island in 1870. Ernst Barlach's poignant sculpture, 'The Seventh Day' (1920), captures the solemnity and reverence of this day of rest, while the image of Miller, seated in his well-stocked safe, awaiting the end of the world, serves as a reminder of their unwavering faith and anticipation of the ultimate fulfillment of God's plan.
