Pollution is a global issue that knows no boundaries, affecting cities and towns across the world. From Liverpool's bustling streets to the Mersey Tug navigating its polluted waters, the detrimental effects are evident everywhere. The Scunthorpe Iron Works belches out smoke and toxic fumes, contributing to the ever-increasing pollution levels. Even industries like Tate & Lyle Refinery have not escaped scrutiny for their role in polluting our environment. An 1866 cartoon depicting water pollution as a source of disease at Deaths Dispensary serves as a stark reminder of how they are impact public health. In mining communities, such as those depicted in "Miners Coming to Work, " air pollution from coal mines poses significant risks to both miners' well-being and nearby residents. Meanwhile, Ferrybridge Power Station looms large over North Yorkshire, spewing pollutants into the atmosphere day after day. Battersea Power Station stands as an iconic symbol of industrialization but also represents the dark side of progress – air pollution caused by burning fossil fuels.
