Nigel Rollason: A Legendary Sidecar Racer With a career spanning several decades, it has left an indelible mark on the world of sidecar racing. Born with a need for speed, he first made waves in 1971 at the Senior Manx Grand Prix, teaming up with Pete Elmore and Ken Huggett to showcase his skills on Norton and Yamaha bikes. But it was in the Isle of Man TT races where Rollason truly shone. In 1973, he piloted BSA machines to victory not once but twice – first in the Production TT alongside his trusty partner Tomkinson BSA, then again in the Senior TT race. These victories cemented his status as a force to be reckoned with. Rollason's partnership with Don Williams proved fruitful over the years. Together they rode Sparton Phoenix sidecars to success in both 1981 and 1985 Sidecar TT races. Their synergy and determination were unmatched as they conquered every twist and turn of the challenging course. Not one to rest on his laurels, Rollason also teamed up with other talented riders such as Dave Horner, Colin Bairnson, Colin Blair, and Colin Blake throughout his illustrious career. With Barton Phoenix machines under their command, they tackled various Sidecar TT events from 1980 to 1984. The name Nigel Rollason became synonymous with skillful maneuvering through hairpin bends at breakneck speeds. His passion for racing was evident in every race he competed in; spectators couldn't help but be captivated by his fearless spirit. As time went on and technology advanced rapidly within motorsports, Nigel Rollason continued to adapt while maintaining an unwavering dedication to excellence. He pushed boundaries that others deemed impossible – always striving for greatness. Today we celebrate Nigel Rollason's incredible legacy as one of the greatest sidecar racers of all time.
