In Pantanal National Park, Brazil, Mary Ann had the incredible opportunity to witness the playful antics of Giant River Otters (Pteronura brasiliensis) as they swam and frolicked in crystal-clear waters. Venturing deeper into the Pantanal jungle, she encountered Capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris), these fascinating creatures gracefully gliding through the water with ease. The sight was simply mesmerizing. While exploring Pantanal's diverse ecosystem, Mary Ann spotted an elegant Anhinga bird (Anhinga anhinga) perched majestically on a tree branch. Its sleek black feathers glistened under the South American sun. But Mary Ann's adventures didn't stop there. She embarked on a journey to Costa Rica in Central America where she marveled at its rich biodiversity. From vibrant toucans to elusive jaguars, every moment was filled with awe-inspiring encounters. Her wanderlust then led her to Africa's stunning landscapes. In Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, she found herself face-to-face with Mountain Gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei). Their soulful eyes captured her heart as she witnessed their gentle nature up close. Continuing her African expedition in Kenya, Mary Ann immersed herself in the vast savannahs teeming with life. The rhythmic footsteps of wildebeests echoed around her as lions roared proudly in search of their next meal. Mary Ann McDonald is not just an explorer; she is a storyteller who captures moments that connect us all to our natural world.
