Magnus Lundgren, a renowned wildlife photographer, has captured the mesmerizing beauty of marine life in various corners of the world. In June 2009, off the coast of Pico, Azores, Portugal, he witnessed a rare sight - sperm whales resting peacefully beneath the azure waves. Their majestic presence left him in awe. Venturing further north to Saltstraumen, Bodø, Norway, Magnus encountered an Atlantic halibut that seemed to pose for his camera. The intricate patterns on its scales and its piercing eyes revealed a glimpse into this magnificent creature's soul. In another expedition to Pico, Azores, Portugal, Magnus was fortunate enough to witness Cory's shearwater gracefully soaring through the sky above the vast sea. Its wings outstretched against the backdrop of endless blue created an ethereal image that spoke volumes about freedom and resilience. The playful nature of common dolphins delighted Magnus during his time in Pico as well. He managed to capture their exuberance as they leaped joyfully out of the water with boundless energy and grace. Using a fisheye lens off the coast of Pico once again allowed Magnus to showcase common dolphins surfacing from below with unparalleled precision. The curvature added depth and perspective to these incredible creatures' synchronized movements. A truly extraordinary moment occurred when Magnus spotted a loggerhead turtle swimming alongside a shoal of pilot fish near Pico Island. This unexpected companionship between two distinct species reminded him how interconnected ecosystems are beneath our planet's surface. Returning back to Norway's Trondheimsfjorden fjord bed proved fruitful for Magnus yet again when he stumbled upon an enigmatic ratfish or ghost shark lurking silently amidst its surroundings. Its eerie appearance evoked both curiosity and fascination within him. Not far away in Lofoten archipelago waters lay another intriguing subject - monkfish or allmouth fish revealing its unique facial features up close for Magnus' lens.
