Lianas, the enchanting vines that weave through lush rainforests and capture our imagination. In the heart of Congo, fishermen from the Wagenya tribe prepare their wooden tripods to embark on a daring adventure. Meanwhile, in the Monkey Forest of Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, mischievous monkeys swing effortlessly from tree to tree using lianas as their natural jungle highways. Venturing further into Xishuangbanna in China's Yunnan Province reveals a breathtaking sight: shrubs, towering trees, and an intricate network creating an otherworldly canopy in the tropical rainforest. Here, a female Sumatran orangutan gracefully moves between these hanging lifelines within Gunung Leuser National Park. The allure continues to captivate us as we journey back to Bali's Monkey Forest once more. Redons escape - in the jungle is depicted through vibrant colors on lithographic prints showcasing how these resilient plants form bridges over rivers deep within Brazilian rainforests. From New Caledonia's Isle of Pines emerges yet another marvel – the Hypogeum of Toupo. Lianas embrace this ancient structure like nature's own artwork after being captured by skilled pen strokes. Further exploration leads us to discover a hidden shelter nestled amidst rocky terrain on this captivating island. As we traverse across continents and landscapes, we find ourselves immersed in Argentina's Cordillera de Salta where dense jungles thrive with life. Lithographs transport us back to Javanese Jungle circa 1860s by Raden Saleh himself; his brushstrokes capturing both its beauty and mystery. In this vast tapestry of biodiversity lies one constant – the presence acting as vital connectors for wildlife survival. A mother chimpanzee tenderly cradles her two-and-a-half-year-old baby while navigating through this tropical forest wonderland. Lianas symbolize resilience and adaptability, intertwining with the very essence of nature's grandeur.
