The HMS Erebus and HMS Terror embarked on an expedition led by Captain Francis Crozier, their mission to discover the elusive Northwest Passage. Little did they know that this voyage would become one of history's most haunting tales. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic Ocean, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were immersed in their royal duties while cherishing moments with their beloved children. Their reign marked an era of progress and prosperity for Great Britain. Back in the icy wilderness of Barrow Strait, the ships Enterprise and Investigator found themselves trapped amidst towering ice formations. It was a scene reminiscent of James Joyce's caricatured Leopold Bloom from his iconic novel "Ulysses, " invoking Homer's Odyssey as he navigated life's intricate paths. Across continents in Africa's Congo region, political tensions brewed as depicted in a poignant cartoon published by Punch magazine in 1906. This illustration shed light on the complexities faced during that time. Returning to British shores, we find ourselves amidst the grandeur of Queen Victoria's royal family tree in 1897. Generations intertwined like branches reaching towards greatness. However, tragedy struck when news arrived about Captain Sir John Franklin and his ill-fated Arctic expedition coming to its end in 1845.
