Jerry Marcy Monkman is a talented photographer who captures the beauty of nature in various locations across New England. On campus at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, he skillfully frames the vibrant autumn foliage that blankets the grounds, showcasing the essence of fall in this picturesque setting. In Jonesport Harbor just before sunset, Jerry's lens transports us to Maine's serene coastal town, where we can almost feel the gentle sea breeze and hear the distant sound of seagulls. Moving on to Grafton, Massachusetts, Jerry focuses his camera on a delicate monarch butterfly gracefully perched on clover. The intricate details captured in this shot remind us of nature's wonders and its ability to inspire awe. Transitioning back to Maine's Acadia National Park, we find ourselves drawn to Jordan Pond House's iconic Adirondack Chairs resting peacefully on its lawn. This image invites us to sit back and appreciate life's simple pleasures amidst breathtaking natural surroundings. Jerry then takes us along for a journey down Androscoggin River in Errol, New Hampshire – an enchanting waterway that meanders through lush forests and reflects dazzling hues during sunset. Further south in Massachusetts lies Connecticut River; here we witness fly-fishermen casting their lines just below First Connecticut Lake as they immerse themselves in tranquility. As autumn arrives once again, Jerry ventures into New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest capturing Mount Madison adorned with vibrant fall foliage—a sight that never fails to amaze visitors from near and far. Finally, atop Dome Rock within this majestic forest reserve at sunset, we are treated to a panoramic view that showcases Mother Nature at her most captivating. Through his lens and artistic vision, Jerry Marcy Monkman transports us across North America—unveiling hidden gems within these stunning landscapes while reminding us of our planet’s incredible diversity and fragility.
