"Jacket: A Timeless Piece of History and Style" From the rugged Dry Stone Walling to the brave soldiers in WW1 Kitchener Recruiting, the jacket has always been a symbol of strength and resilience. Even on the cricket field, as seen in WA Rouch's painting of The England Test cricket XI at Nottingham in 1899, players donned their jackets with pride. But it wasn't just for sports; rock and roll dancing couples twirled around wearing stylish jackets that added flair to their moves. During The American Civil War, General Ulysses S. Grant commanded his troops while sporting a distinguished jacket, embodying authority and leadership. Table tennis enthusiasts during the Edwardian era knew how to play with etiquette while wearing their fashionable jackets. In the swinging sixties, Mods on Scooters zoomed through town squares, showcasing their impeccable taste in tailored jackets. The year 1954 brought new fashions for both men and women alike - elegant jackets became an essential part of any outfit. Not even our four-legged friends were left behind when it came to fashion; witness the dapper Dachshund strutting its stuff in a tiny jacket. Looking back further into history, we find The Darley Arabian from c1720 depicted wearing a regal coat - even horses appreciated a good jacket. Stonewall Jackson himself wore a military-style jacket as he fought bravely during America's turbulent times between 1824-1863. And let's not forget William Cutbush and Sons' craftsmanship - they specialized in creating exquisite bespoke jackets that stood out among others.
