Amidst the grandeur of the 1901 Balloon event in Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne, a British entrepreneur, Charles Green, made a significant impact. Green, known for his connections to the tragic Titanic engineers, including 14 who perished, also had a thriving business back in London. The British Drapery Store on Edgware Road bore his name, selling exquisite accessories like Hodgkinson's British Art Nouveau hairpins in silver, gold, and enamel, and pendants, lockets, and brooches.
