Feathers have long captivated our imagination, from the vibrant plumes of Gypsy Splendour in Laura Knight's artwork to the majestic Wedge-tailed eagle soaring through the sky. They hold a significant place in history, symbolizing gratitude and unity as depicted in The First Thanksgiving of 1621. But it also evoke a sense of alarm, like the Common Pheasant startled by an unseen danger. In Regatta and Carnival Week at Fowey, Cornwall, August 1993 (Picture No. 10859244), feathers take center stage amidst festivities and celebration. In nature's ballet, we witness a Swallow gracefully gliding through the air while Cockatiel Birds perch on branches with their colorful plumage on display. Feathers adorn even humans as seen in Pearly Kings & Queens' intricate outfits that pay homage to tradition and community spirit. The Red kite soars high above us, reminding us of its resilience despite adversity. And although it may seem unrelated, even Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaurs had their own feathered allure during mating rituals millions of years ago. Feathers beckon us to "Come to the Show, " inviting us into a world where beauty takes flight on delicate wings. Whether they belong to birds or dinosaurs, feathers continue to mesmerize with their elegance and grace throughout time.
