All Professionally Made to Order for Quick Shipping

Amidst the chaos of the Chinese Civil War, a poignant moment of respite as wounded Amethyst soldiers arrive at St. Martin-in-the-Field for medical aid. Elsewhere, Punjab soldiers of the Shanghai Defence Force march through the city's streets, maintaining order amidst the turmoil. The Japanese Concession in Hankou remains strongly guarded, a symbol of foreign intervention in China's internal affairs. In 1927, the city of Shanghai was under siege as sailors from the United States and Britain arrived to defend their interests. H.M.S. "Cockchafer" drops anchor, preparing to pick up a convoy. But the tides of war were turning. In 1947, food riots erupted in Chinese cities, a desperate plea for sustenance during a devastating shortage. Mr. Wang Ching Wei, former Chairman of the Central Kuomintang Party, listened intently to radio broadcasts, hoping for a peaceful resolution. Yet, the communist tide continued to rise, as depicted in this 1949 American cartoon by D.R. Fitzpatrick, marking a new page in China's long history and the establishment of the People's Republic.
