CB Radio: Connecting Communities and Enthusiasts In the world of CB radio, Skelton Beakers Club members Graham Appleyard, Ann Scott, and Barry Smith gather together to share their passion for communication. Their dedication is mirrored by David Nicholson, a CB radio enthusiast who proudly displays his rig and license. Curiosity piques as Samantha Bunnell and her friend Jillian Carnell try out a CB radio for the first time. The excitement is contagious as they experience the power of connecting with others through this unique form of communication. Doreen Bone, a cashier at Dixons, showcases one of the new legal CB radios available on the market. These devices are revolutionizing how people connect with each other in real-time. Paul Bradwell, known as "The Badger, " joins forces with Joseph Hunt to indulge in their shared love for all things CB radio-related. Their enthusiasm shines through every conversation they have over the airwaves. Inside a car on September 2nd, 1981, we find ourselves immersed in an intimate setting where a CB radio becomes not just a device but an integral part of daily life. It connects individuals from different walks of life while breaking down barriers that would otherwise separate them. Sadly, due to lack of interest or changing times, Vince Prior's North Tees Breakers Club disbands. However, Middlesbrough-based Phantom Squadron CB Radio Group members continue to keep this vibrant community alive. Neil Robinson stands tall among fellow members at Phantom Squadron CB Radio Group meetings; united by their shared love for Citizen Band Radio. Their gatherings provide opportunities to exchange knowledge and strengthen bonds within this tight-knit community. At the first-ever Citizen Band Radio exhibition held recently, the possibilities offered by these devices were showcased like never before. Communication was no longer limited by distance or location – it became boundless. Pat Lee from Sunderland Breakers Club collaborates with Barnwell Primary School CB Club members, inspiring the younger generation to explore the world of CB radio.
