Brian Foskett: Capturing the Legends of Jazz Through his lens, Brian Foskett immortalized some of the greatest jazz musicians in history. In 1967, he captured the legendary Buddy Rich's electrifying performance in London, showcasing his unparalleled drumming skills. Two years earlier, Foskett was there to document Paul Chambers' mesmerizing bass playing that left audiences in awe. In 1968, Joe Morello graced London with his presence and Foskett seized the opportunity to capture this iconic drummer's remarkable talent. Fast forward to 1989 at Royal Albert Hall where Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. , and Liza Minnelli shared a stage for an unforgettable night; it was Brian Foskett who skillfully documented their magical performances. Traveling across borders, Foskett found himself at Mstricht Jazz Festival in the Netherlands in 1991 when B. B. King took center stage. His photographs perfectly encapsulated King's soulful blues guitar playing that resonated with fans worldwide. Back on home soil in London during 1989, Jack DeJohnette showcased his virtuosity at Queen Elizabeth Hall under Foskett's watchful eye. The intensity and passion emanating from DeJohnette were flawlessly captured through each click of the camera shutter. Foskett had a unique chance to witness history unfold as he photographed Miles Davis Quintet back in 1960. These images serve as a testament to Davis' revolutionary approach to jazz music that forever changed its landscape. Venturing across continents once again, Los Angeles became a backdrop for Elvin Jones and his Jazz Machine at Jazz Bakery in 1997. Through vivid imagery, Foskett conveyed Jones' dynamic energy behind the drums that enthralled audiences night after night. Elvin Jones returned into focus around 1968 when Brian Foskett captured his essence, showcasing the drummer's raw talent and undeniable stage presence.
