One of his notable achievements was being part of Reg Dearden's team during the 1958 Manx Grand Prix. Alongside Eddy Tombs, Bob Dowty rode a BMW in the 2011 Pre TT Classic, showcasing his enduring passion for the sport. This early experience laid down foundations for future successes yet to come. Notably versatile throughout his career, it also excelled on different motorcycles like BMW and Suzuki models. In partnership with Eddy Toombs at various events including the Pre TT Classic in 2012 or Lightweight Classic Manx Grand Prix in 1999 riding CHC Suzuki bike respectively; he demonstrated adaptability and skill across various racing categories.
