Mitchells Corn Palace, Mitchell, South Dakota, USA

Mitchell's Corn Palace, The World's Only Corn Palace at Mitchell, South Dakota, USA. The card notes that this building is redecorated annually at a cost of $10, 000 in natural colored grains and grasses. The annual festival is held the last week in September and the building is open free the year around. It is the most outstanding exhibit of nature's wonderful colors blended into interesting designs and pictures by skilled decorators'. The Russian-style onion domes and Moorish minarets were added in 1937. Date: circa 1937

Vivian Terrace, Falmouth Road, Truro, Cornwall. Probably early 20th century

A view of Vivian Terrace looking towards the Lander Monument in Lemon Street. There is a man on a bicycle riding in the road and a horse-drawn milk cart with churns is waiting outside one house. Built in the early to mid 19th century, the grade II listed buildings in the terrace are now known as 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21 Falmouth Road. The Lander monument was designed by the architect Philip Sambell in 1835 to commemorate the discoveries of the Lander brothers, Richard and John, whose discoveries included the source of River Niger. Pyramids at Giza

Pyramids at Giza. Satellite image of the three pyramids at Giza, in northern Egypt. The pyramids are thought to have been built between 2600 and 2500 BC, as tombs and monuments for members of the ruling dynasties of ancient Egypt. The largest pyramid (lower left) was built for King Khufu, or Cheops. Its construction is thought to have taken over 20 years, and for many centuries it was the tallest building in the world. The pyramid at centre right was built for King Khafre, son of Khufu. The smallest pyramid (upper right) was built for King Menkaure. The pyramids at Giza are the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World still intact
