In the vibrant year of 1986, history was made and memories were etched forever. Wham. Bid farewell to their fans with an electrifying concert at Wembley Stadium in London on the 28th of June. The energy pulsated through the crowd as they sang along to every hit song, cherishing this unforgettable moment. Meanwhile, deep underground at Geevor Tin Mine in Pendeen, Cornwall, a dedicated miner tirelessly worked amidst the darkness and dust. With determination etched on his face, he braved the challenges that came with his profession. In stark contrast to the miner's world, A. E. Bestall's enchanting painting "The Last Caravan" transported viewers into a whimsical realm where imagination knew no bounds. It served as a gentle reminder that even amidst life's hardships, beauty could still be found. Speaking of miners, one couldn't forget their loyal companions - canaries. These feathered friends acted as early warning systems for dangerous gases lurking in mineshafts. Their presence symbolized both hope and caution for those working beneath the earth's surface. Intellectual giants Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir left an indelible mark on philosophy during their lifetimes (1905-1980) (1908-1986). Their profound ideas challenged societal norms and encouraged critical thinking among generations to come. Sports enthusiasts rejoiced when Everton and Liverpool teams shared the stage at the 1986 Charity Shield match. The atmosphere crackled with excitement as rivalries were set aside momentarily for a greater cause - charity uniting communities through sport. September brought us Julie Walters alongside Victoria Wood – two talented women who graced our screens with their wit and charm in 1986. Their collaboration showcased their comedic brilliance while captivating audiences across Britain. The Queen rock group reigned supreme throughout 1986.
