Winchcombe station opened in February 1905 and closed to passengers in March 1960. Goods operations ceased in November 1964, but the station reopened in 1987 as part of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway (heritage)

This Blackburn Kangaroo biplane - a former WW1 bomber - which was purchased by explorer

This Blackburn Kangaroo biplane - a former WW1 bomber - which was purchased by explorer Captain Wilkins in 1919, later Sir Hubert Wilkins, to compete in an air race sponsored by the Australian Government.
A prize of £10,000 was being offered for the first All-Australian crew to fly from England to Australia. Piloted by Lieutenants Val Rendle and D R Williams, with Wilkins as navigator and Lieutenant Potts the engineer, the aircraft left Hounslow in West London on 21st November 1919 but suffered a serious oil leak on 8th December and returned to Suda Bay, Crete where the flight was abandoned.
