Didier, L. Flameng, and F. Laguillermie, exudes elegance and grace. Taken from Georges Duplessis' renowned book "Costumes historiques des XVIe, XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles" (Historical costumes of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries), published in Paris in 1867 as a continuation of Camille Bonnard and Paul Mercuri's earlier series on costumes from the 12th to the 15th centuries. This comprehensive work served as an invaluable resource for historical fashion enthusiasts. The subject's attire reflects the fashion trends prevalent during this era with meticulous attention to detail. From her ornate headpiece adorned with delicate feathers to her intricately designed dress featuring ruffled sleeves and intricate embroidery - every element speaks volumes about the opulence of French fashion during that time. Edmond Lechevallier-Chevignard was not only an accomplished artist but also a talented book illustrator and interior designer for numerous public buildings and churches.
