The county has a population of 618,108 people as of 2011 and covers an area of 3,046 km2 (1,176 sq mi). The county town is Antrim. A rich history with many castles including Dunluce Castle which dates back to 1513. It also has many beautiful beaches such as White Park Bay and Murlough Bay. There are many attractions in County Antrim such as Carrickfergus Castle which was built in 1177 or Slemish Mountain which is said to be where St Patrick spent his time as a shepherd boy before becoming Ireland's patron saint.
