Churchill Collection

Sir Winston Churchill was a British statesman and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. He was born in Oxfordshire, England on November 30, 1874. Churchill is widely regarded as one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th century, leading Britain through World War II. His leadership helped Britain survive Nazi Germany's onslaught and ultimately defeat it in 1945. After WWII, he served as leader of the Conservative Party until 1955 when he retired from politics. He was also an accomplished writer who wrote many books about his life and experiences during WWII. Churchill's legacy lives on today in his hometown of Oxfordshire where there are several monuments dedicated to him including a statue at Blenheim Palace which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
