Newark on Trent is a town located in Nottinghamshire, England and is situated on the River Trent and has a population of around 27,000 people. Newark has a long history, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Iron Age. During the English Civil War it was held by Royalist forces for three years before being captured by Oliver Cromwell's Roundheads in 1646.
