Worsley Collection

Worsley is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. It lies on the banks of the River Irwell and Bridgewater Canal, 5.3 miles (8.5 km) southwest of Manchester city centre and has a population of around 25,000 people. The area has been inhabited since Neolithic times and was historically part of Lancashire until 1974 when it became part of Greater Manchester. Worsley is known for its historic buildings such as Worsley Old Hall which dates back to 1560 and was once home to the Earl of Ellesmere; Worsley Court House which was built in 1760; St Mark's Church which dates back to 1845; and The Courthouse pub which dates back to 1770s.
