With an impressive record of 288 first-class appearances between 1939 and 1957, he amassed a staggering total of 14,327 runs. His talent was recognized on an international level too, representing England in eighteen Tests from 1946 to 1955. Beside him is Cyril Washbrook, another revered figure in Lancashire's rich history. Over his remarkable career spanning from 1933 to 1959, Washbrook played an astonishing 500 first-class matches for the county. His bat spoke volumes as he accumulated a colossal tally of 27,863 runs with an incredible fifty-eight centuries to his name.
