Ikin made 288 first-class appearances for the county between 1939 and 1957, scoring 14327 runs. He played eighteen Tests for England from 1946 to 1955.
Washbrook made 500 first-class appearances for the county between 1933 and 1959, scoring 27863 runs with 58 centuries. In 1954 he was appointed Lancashires first-ever professional captain. He played 37 tests for England.
