In the early stages of the 2011-12 npower Football League season, Redmond showcased his electrifying skills and blistering pace, leaving the Middlesbrough defense in his wake. The young winger, then just 19 years old, had already made a name for himself in the lower leagues with his explosive performances for Birmingham City. But it was this game against Middlesbrough that truly announced Redmond as a rising star in English football. With the ball glued to his feet and his opponents seemingly unable to keep up, Redmond weaved his way through the Middlesbrough defense, leaving a trail of defenders in his wake. His quick footwork, agility, and vision were on full display as he created chance after chance for his teammates. Despite the pressure of playing against a more experienced and established Championship side, Redmond remained calm and composed, demonstrating a maturity beyond his years. His performances throughout the season earned him the Championship Young Player of the Year award, and he went on to make his debut for the England Under-21 team.
