Hebron  Collection

Hebron is a Palestinian city located in the southern West Bank, about 30 km south of Jerusalem, and is the largest city in the West Bank and home to over 200,000 Palestinians. Hebron has been an important religious site for Jews, Christians and Muslims since ancient times. In 1994, a massacre occurred at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron which resulted in increased tensions between Israelis and Palestinians. The city remains divided today with Israeli settlements located on one side and Palestinian neighborhoods on another. The economy of Hebron relies heavily on tourism as well as agriculture and industry, including textiles and pottery production. Despite ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, Hebron continues to be an important cultural center for both sides with its rich history dating back thousands of years.
