Richard Westall Collection

Richard Westall (1765-1836) was an English painter and illustrator, best known for his works in the Romantic style. He is remembered for his illustrations of literary works, such as those of William Shakespeare, Lord Byron and John Milton. He also painted portraits and historical scenes. Westall began his career as a scene painter at Drury Lane Theatre in London before becoming a successful portrait painter.
