Georges Washington Collection

Georges Washington was an American artist, born in New York City in 1852. He studied at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League of New York. Washington's work was primarily focused on landscapes and portraits, often depicting scenes from rural America. His paintings were characterized by a bright palette and a focus on light and atmosphere. He exhibited his work widely throughout the United States, including at the National Academy of Design, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, and The Brooklyn Museum.
