Matthias Withoos Collection

Matthias Withoos is a Dutch painter and draftsman of the Baroque period. He was born in Amersfoort, Netherlands in 1627 and died in Amsterdam in 1703. His works are mainly landscapes, still lifes, and scenes of everyday life. Withoos was a highly skilled artist who worked with both oil paints and watercolors to create his artworks. He also used etching techniques to create prints of his work. His works often featured animals such as birds, cats, dogs, horses, goats, deer, rabbits and other creatures that populated the Dutch countryside at the time.
