Otto van Veen Collection

Otto van Veen was a Flemish painter, draughtsman, and printmaker of the 16th century. He was born in Leiden, Netherlands and is best known for his work on the allegorical series of prints The Four Elements. Van Veen was an important figure in the Northern Renaissance movement and had a major influence on Peter Paul Rubens. He worked as court painter to Archduke Albert VII of Austria from 1595 until his death in 1629.
