Titian Collection

Titian (Tiziano Vecellio) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance period. He is widely considered one of the most influential painters in Western art history, born in Pieve di Cadore, a small town near Venice, Italy in 1488 and died in 1576. He began his career as an apprentice to Giovanni Bellini and later worked with Giorgione and Sebastiano del Piombo. His most famous works include The Assumption of the Virgin (1516-18), Bacchus and Ariadne (1520-23), Venus with a Mirror (1555) and The Death of Actaeon (1559-75).
