James Ross Collection

James Ross is an artist, curator and arts educator based in Toronto, Canada. He has been creating art for over twenty years and has exhibited his work in galleries around the world. His work is often inspired by urban landscapes and the people who inhabit them. He also works with a variety of materials including paint, photography, video and installation to create works that explore themes of identity, culture and place. As a curator he has organized several exhibitions featuring emerging artists from diverse backgrounds across Canada. As an educator he teaches courses on contemporary art practices at universities throughout North America. His passion for art extends beyond his own practice to include supporting other artists through mentorship programs as well as advocating for greater access to the arts within communities across Canada.
