Robert Edge Pine (1730-1788) was an American portrait painter and engraver. He was born in London, England, but moved to Philadelphia in 1772. He quickly became one of the most prominent painters of his time, painting portraits of many prominent figures including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.
