Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: German classical composer of the early Romantic period, also a pianist, organist and conductor. As a child prodigy he had composed a symphony, organ works, sonatas and songs before his sixteenth birthday. He was seventeen when he composed the overture to a Midsummer Night's Dream.
