Fra Filippo Lippi was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance period. He was born in Florence in 1406 and is considered one of the most important painters of his time. He began his career as a Carmelite friar, but left the order to pursue painting. His works are characterized by their bright colors, graceful figures, and attention to detail. His most famous works include The Annunciation (1450) and Madonna with Child and Two Angels (1465). He also painted frescoes for churches throughout Italy, including Prato Cathedral and Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence.
