Ubaldo Gandolfi Collection

Ubaldo Gandolfi is an Italian painter and sculptor. He was born in Bologna in 1728 and died in Rome in 1781. His works are characterized by a strong Baroque influence, with a focus on religious themes, as well as mythological and allegorical subjects. He is best known for his frescoes, which can be found throughout Italy, including the Palazzo del Quirinale and the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi. He also created several sculptures for churches throughout Italy, such as the bronze statue of St Peter at the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. In addition to his work as an artist, he was also a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna from 1754 to 1781. His works continue to be admired today for their technical skill and beauty.
