Agostino di Duccio Collection

Agostino di Duccio (1418-1481) was an Italian sculptor who is considered one of the most important figures in early Renaissance sculpture. He is most known for his work on the façade of the Siena Cathedral, which includes a large relief depicting the Coronation of the Virgin Mary. He also created several other sculptures, including a Madonna and Child and a Crucifixion group, both of which are now housed in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence. Di Duccio's style combined classical elements with more naturalistic details to create works that were both elegant and expressive. His influence can be seen in later Renaissance artists such as Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael.
