He is a self-taught painter, sculptor, and muralist whose work has been featured in galleries throughout the United States. He has also been commissioned by several organizations to create public works of art. In addition to his artistic practice, Samuel Davis is an active arts educator who teaches classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media at various institutions across the country. Through his teaching he strives to help students develop their creative skills while also instilling in them a sense of appreciation for the power of art as a means of communication and expression.
