Lorenzo di Credi Collection

Lorenzo di Credi was an Italian Renaissance painter and sculptor from Florence. He was a student of Andrea del Verrocchio and is best known for his religious works, such as the altarpiece in the Church of San Bartolomeo in Pistoia. He also painted portraits, including one of Lorenzo de' Medici, and several Madonnas. Di Credi's style was influenced by his teacher's work but he developed a more delicate technique with a greater emphasis on color than Verrocchio had used. His paintings were praised for their lifelike quality and attention to detail, particularly in facial features. He also produced several bronze sculptures during his career, including a bust of Pope Julius II which is now housed at the Bargello Museum in Florence.
