George the Elder Chambers is an artist, sculptor, and educator who has been creating art for over 40 years. He was born in Philadelphia and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work has been exhibited in numerous galleries throughout the United States and abroad. He is known for his abstract sculptures which often incorporate elements of nature such as wood, stone, metal, clay, and other materials. His works are inspired by his African-American heritage as well as his spiritual beliefs. George also teaches art classes to children at local schools and community centers in Philadelphia. He believes that art should be accessible to everyone regardless of their background or financial means. George's artwork seeks to bring beauty into people's lives while also providing a platform for social change through its powerful messages about race relations and human rights issues.
