Eugen von Blaas Collection

Eugen von Blaas (1843-1932) was an Austrian painter, known for his romantic and classical works. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and then went on to study in Rome. His paintings often featured religious themes, such as "The Last Supper" and "The Crucifixion". He also painted many landscapes, including views of Venice, Rome, Sicily and the Dolomites. In addition to his painting career he also taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1877 until his retirement in 1915. His works are held in numerous public collections around the world including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Art and The Louvre.
