Jean Jacques Bachelier (1724-1806) was a French painter and draughtsman of the Rococo period. He is best known for his portraits and genre scenes, which were highly sought after during his lifetime. Bachelier was born in Paris and studied under the renowned artist François Boucher before establishing himself as an independent artist in 1750.
