The Amsterdam Tournament was an annual pre-season international football competition held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, featuring some of the world's top clubs. Alex Song, a Cameroonian international, had already established himself as a key player for Arsenal, having joined the team in 2005. His dynamic midfield performances and tenacious tackling had earned him a place in the hearts of Arsenal fans.
