In this photograph, Arsenal's Francis Coquelin (number 17) triumphantly lifts the Carling Cup after securing a hard-fought 2:0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at Emirates Stadium on September 22, 2009. The third round match of the Carling Cup, a domestic cup competition in English football, marked an important moment in Arsenal's season and Coquelin's young career. Coquelin, a French midfielder, had only made his Arsenal debut in the previous league game against Blackpool, but he quickly established himself as a key player in the team.
