Macropus robustus erubescens
This subspecies erubescens is known as Euro or Red Wallaroo and the eastern subspecies robustus is called Grey Wallaroo. This is a wild animal seen at the back of the tennis courts on the outskirts of Marble Bar, Western Australia. They feed in the evening and at night and rarely drink water. It had been resting in the shade of a huge tree but quickly disappeared into open spinifex country when it realised it had been seen.

Caught in the Act - The Sneaky Wallaroo's Great Escape!

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photo print, we witness a thrilling moment from the wilds of Western Australia. DH-3652, also known as Euro or Red Wallaroo, is caught red-handed at the back of Marble Bar's tennis courts. This mischievous marsupial inhabits dry rocky areas and is notorious for its elusive nature. Resting under the cool shade of a towering tree, our furry friend thought it had found the perfect hiding spot. Little did it know that Don Hadden's keen eye was upon it! As soon as DH-3652 realized it had been spotted, it vanished into thin air with lightning speed. Feeding exclusively during evenings and nights while rarely drinking water, this wallaroo knows how to survive in harsh conditions. Its ability to blend seamlessly into open spinifex country only adds to its mystique. This incredible snapshot showcases not just an Australian icon but also highlights the beauty and resilience of wildlife in their natural habitats. With its vibrant reddish coat contrasting against the arid landscape, DH-3652 reminds us why these creatures are truly unique treasures of Australasia. So next time you find yourself near Marble Bar's outskirts, keep your eyes peeled for these wily wallaroos - they may be watching you too!
