Noctule Collection

Noctule (Vespertilionidae) is a species of bat found in Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia, and are medium-sized bats with a wingspan of up to 12 inches and weigh between 0.5 and 1 ounce. Noctules have reddish-brown fur on their backs, while their undersides are pale yellow or white. They feed mainly on insects such as moths, beetles, flies, and mosquitoes that they catch in flight using echolocation. Noctules roost in trees during the day and emerge at night to hunt for food. They form colonies of up to several hundred individuals during the summer months when food is plentiful but disperse into smaller groups during the winter months when food is scarce, and are important predators that help keep insect populations under control which helps protect crops from damage caused by these pests.
